This system manager performs many of the same functions as standard Windows tools, and, in some cases, provides easier access to the Windows utilities themselves. Super System Helper s Windows XP-style interface offers familiar icons and menu options over a Task Manager-like display of processes. You can view associated DLLs and other information for any process in addition to terminating or blocking it. The program also includes an IE Fix utility for managing the browser toolbar and right-button functions, and a Tweak menu has options to modify the desktop, Start menu, and other My Computer areas. The Tools menu offers direct access to seven Windows utilities, such as the Registry Editor and DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Though Super System Helper s tools are easy to use, they offer little additional functionality over Windows. In fact, the only tool not found in the standard Windows repertoire is the shutdown scheduler, which offers one-time, daily, or delayed shutdown options. Oddly, the help file is disabled during the trial. All told, Super System Helper doesn t offer enough guidance for the novice to safely use it or enough advanced features to satisfy the more knowledgeable user.
