This IP-monitoring tool completely tracks packet activity on your computer, but expects users to have a through understanding of Internet protocols. Though IpMaster s interface is not as pleasing as other applications in this class, it s cleanly organized and fairly easy to use once you get started. This program is a great tool for monitoring incoming and outgoing packets on your computer for both Internet and network endeavors. The busy interface makes it difficult to know immediately how to run the program. You first select your network interface and press the Start button to begin monitoring packets. This program immediately lists the ports, source and destination IP addresses, and data types. An important filtering feature makes it a snap to track a particular port, IP address, or data type. You also can view the packet data details in different formats, and view the previous pages through the Load Page list. Novices may be scared off by the somewhat complex installation process and a lack of explanation for the information it uncovers. It lacks a help file and doesn t include a tool to create reports.
