This suite of utilities can t overcome a poor interface. FileTorment Suite 2007 s white on off-white interface gives users more eyestrain than help. The blocky icons lack even tooltips to help users easily identify which icon opens which function. On install, this program mentions two buttons to click to install options. Both buttons were missing for our testers. The program s Help file explains basic operation, but little else.

Assuming your eyes are strong enough to activate FileTorment Suite 2007 s functions you won t find much. The Disk Cleaner is batch driven and offers no user interaction. The Boot Optimizer promises changes to your Windows Registry to improve boot speed, but is disabled in the demo. The File Wiper uses a wizard to help users select and delete files, but its functionality is surpassed by numerous freeware utilities. The antiadware tool is disabled. The Fast Shutdown was neither fast, not did it completely shut down our test systems. The computer lock screen function also is disabled. The function to display select system information was basic and incorrect for some readings.

A function to test if your system is connected to the Internet is superfluous. While the enabled functions were easy enough for inexperienced users, FileTorment Suite 2007 s tools are too basic to overcome the poor presentation of the interface and the functions. We can easily recommend all users find these functions elsewhere.
